Who we are

Off to Great Places was founded by Samantha (Sami) Offer who is a qualified Developmental Educator holding a Bachelor’s degree in Disability and Developmental Education and a Post Graduate degree in Positive Behaviour Support from Flinders University. Sami is a member of Developmental Educators Australia Inc. (DEAI) and has been working with individuals with disabilities and their families in a range of settings for over 8 years in South Australia. Sami grew up in Mildura and has now moved back and is excited to bring the knowledge and skills with her as a Disability Specialist.

As a Developmental Educator, Sami works with individuals, their families/parents/guardians, other service providers and allied health professionals to teach functional life skills (including social, communication, self-care, daily living, recreation, and employment), increase independence, enhance emotional regulation and promote the physical and emotional well-being of people with disabilities.

Sami is passionate about working with children, young people and their families, in order to improve their quality of life and sense of well-being. Sami is trained in undertaking functional behavioural assessments and implementing positive behaviour support plans.

Sami has a friendly and engaging therapy style focusing on developing positive relationships and working closely with the individual, their family and other support networks across settings (home, school, work, community). Sami provides individual therapeutic intervention, works on social skills in small groups and provides support to families and siblings. Additionally, Sami provides valuable, practical advice to educators and schools about supporting the needs of children and young people living with disability.
